Recreation Park Renovation Project
The Recreation Park Renovation Project process has begun!
In mid-January, the Recreation, Parks, and Library department opened a RFQ calling on firms specializing in the planning, design, and engineering of park and recreation facilities. Perspective design firms met with city staff to tour the Recreation Park facilities and submitted their qualifications. The chosen firm began work on phase one, which included:
- Teen Plaza, including the Teen Center, skatepark and basketball court immediately adjacent to the Teen Center.
- Improvements to three ballfields (Brett Field, Stevenson Field, and Softball Field) including field improvements, outfield improvements, score boards, lighting, fencing and irrigation.
- Tennis, pickleball, paddleball and racquetball court renovations.
- Re-imagining an underutilized section of Park including lawn bowling, horseshoe toss, Bag-o, and shuffleboard areas.
