The City of El Segundo’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Committee was established by City Council on July 21, 2020.  Its purpose is to inspire and activate efforts to integrate diversity, equity and inclusion into City of El Segundo decisions, service delivery and policies to improve the well-being of the entire El Segundo community. 

City Council recommended the following study topics:

  1. Public Safety (including a review of Police Department policies, practices, training, diversity, and future direction)
  2. Citywide Organization (including a review of City government policies, practices, training, diversity, etc.)
  3. Community at Large (including a review of City demographic data, history, trends, etc.)
  4. Local Economy (including a review of private sector diversity policies, practices, training, etc.)

The DEI Committee completed the study topics and provided the following comprehensive reports and recommendations to City Council.
